VISTA Voices: Rachel Peterson

Rachel Peterson accepted her VISTA assignment at The Learning Community, a nationally recognized K-8 public charter school in Central Falls, Rhode Island. Rachel had a goal of learning Spanish to improve her effectiveness as a VISTA, and she gets to connect her life outside of school to the work she does every day. It is very empowering to know that even while Rachel is not working directly through AmeriCorps she is becoming better able to serve the communities she works with after this year with Spanish.
