Rhode Island Campus Compact Annual Statewide Meeting: Reflecting on Our Investment in Higher Education in partnership with Roger Williams University on Friday April 10, 2015.
Each year, Rhode Island Campus Compact hosts a Statewide Meeting of its higher education members and partners to share successes and challenges in addressing critical social issues. This year, in partnership with Roger Williams University, the Statewide Meeting will go beyond the questioned return on investment of higher education and invite participants to reflect on the public purposes of colleges and universities and the multiple ways in which we educate students for democracy.
Join students, faculty, administrators, college presidents, and community leaders in a provocative discussion and sharing of promising practices in civic and community engagement.
Keynote Address to be made by Stephen Black, Director of the Center for Ethics & Social Responsibility at the University of Alabama.
“When students become more familiar with the realities of poverty and individuals struggling to break free of it, they begin to develop a greater sense of responsibility to take action to promote social change.” -Stephen Black
