On June 3, Rhode Island Campus Compact will host two events at Save the Bay. The RICC AmeriCorps*VISTA Showcase will feature the work of VISTAs across the state and the PFS Sharing Practice event will dive into the PFS Pilot Case Study project. See below for details on the two events:
The RI Campus Compact AmeriCorps*VISTA Showcase will take place on Wednesday, June 3, from 9-11 am at Save the Bay:
Join RICC AmeriCorps*VISTAs for an interactive poster session and light breakfast as they demonstrate the impact of their projects on low-income communities across the state. Learn more about the RICC AmeriCorps*VISTA program and hear how VISTAs are addressing statewide unmet needs by expanding college access and success opportunities and creating a culture of civic engagement for Rhode Island students.
This event is free and open to the public: VISTA Supervisors and project support staff, community partners, friends and family members are invited to attend. We encourage you to invite prospective VISTA candidates and host site applicants! Register here for the VISTA Showcase.
Partnerships for Success (PFS), a PK-20 initiative of Rhode Island Campus Compact, will host a Sharing Practice event from 11 am – 12:30 pm at Save the Bay on June 3.
PFS sharing practice events accomplish a couple of things: networking across the education pipeline, reflection on partnership practice, and the dissemination of new tools for PK-20 partnership development. This particular sharing practice event will discuss the learnings of the PFS Pilot Case Study project conducted in the fall of 2014. The PFS Rubric formed a central document in the exploration of professional learning communities and institution-district partnerships; the questions, answers, and tools prompted by the two pilot case studies will inform a discussion on partnership practice. Join the PFS Advisory Council, AmeriCorps*VISTAs, and the broader PK-20 community on June 3!
Please RSVP to Kerry Condon to secure a spot in the sharing practice event.
